What are the possible ways of assessing students’ prior knowledge and skills? What evidence will we look for?

See attached holiday homework. The students were asked to investigate different forms of communicaation over the holidays and reflect on what was easy or hard for them.

What are the possible ways of assessing student learning in the context of the lines of inquiry? What evidence will we look for?

(IP1) - The recognised that there were other forms of communication other than speaking and writing.

After each form of communication the students were asked to reflect on the experience. Each part of the reflection sheet was related to one of the inquiry points. (IP 1,2 &3)

(IP 2) Students show understanding through written evidence that often there is a target audience and it is linked to interest, age, gender etc.
