Nothing can be dragged into or out of the editor.

Confirmed.
It seams that it is not possible to drag text with Opera in any way, even on normal web pages. Only input fields accept it.

Correct. Opera lacks some drag-and-drop implementation (except for dragging links from page to editing widgets).

In source view dragging and dropping can be done, but online within the sourceArea itself. The only other source or target I could find is the address bar: content can be interchanged with the address bar and sourceArea by drag 'n drop.
