#7141 confirmed New Feature

Color/Style of Bullets/Numbers in lists should follow the style/color of first character of the list item.

Reported by: Satya Minnekanti Owned by:
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: General Version:
Keywords: IBM Cc: Damian, James Cunningham, Teresa Monahan, lynne_kues@…, mcamden@…, Michael

Description

Scenario 1:

When user clicks bullet/numbered list button and then selects style/color of the text, then the color/style of bullets/numbers in lists should automatically change to style/color that we have selected

Scenario 2:

When user selects style/ color of the text first and then clicks the bullet/numbered list button, then the color/style of bullets/numbers in lists should automatically change to style/color that we have selected

Scenario 3:

When user creates numbered/bulleted list and then applies color/style only to first character in each list item , then color/style of the bullets/numbers should automatically change to style/color applied to the first character in the list item.

Also when the user selects the list item and click Remove format it should clear any style applied to the list/bullet line.

This should also pertain when a list item is assigned a Format.

One further scenario for this feature:

Scenario 4: When a user creates numbered/bulleted list and then inserts caret in the first position on the line (prior to the first character) and changes the color/size, the number/bullet should should automatically change to style/color applied. (Note: they are only changing the font attributes for the insertion point and not actually adding any characters). This would allow (for example) black text and all blue bullets.

Sorry for the bump, but has no one else noticed this one?

Although scenarios for this issue look IMHO more CKE related that HTML/CSS related, we will wait for the outcome of http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2013Dec/0322.html.

Once we know the final resolution, we will know whether w3c will be any help or we will do it on our own.

NOTE: Main ticket for list issues is #8741. I believe before implementing this ticket we would have to implement #8741 first.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
