Select all then delete or backspace clears formatting

tested: svn-trunk Oct-10-2007
Happens in Fx and IE7:

  1. Set text formatting and type some text.
  2. Select all from the toolbar or context menu.
  3. Press either backspace or delete, menu formatting is cleared.
  4. Note: if instead of delete, you started typing then formatting is not lost.

Confirmed with IE7 and FF2.

Point 4 could be confirmed with IE7 only. In FF, the formatting gets lost in this case too.

Described bahaviour occurs also in CKE3.6.2Trunk.
What is actual policy for such issue? Is it a bug or expected behaviour?
