Reported by: Frederico Caldeira Knabben Owned by:
Priority: Normal Milestone: Opera Compatibility
Component: General Version: SVN (FCKeditor) - Retired
Keywords: Cc: Hallvord R. M. Steen (Opera Software)

Description

It is not possible to delete a table by selecting it with the mouse (clicking on its border) and hitting the DEL key. The first char of the first cell is deleted instead, and the caret is moved there.

Maybe I'm missing something but I see nearly exact same behaviour in Opera and Firefox (testing with SVN checkout) regarding tables and the Delete key. Neither lets you delete a table with del when selected (though both do funny things if you have an empty paragraph followed by an empty table, place cursor in paragraph and press delete. Opera always deletes table, Firefox sometimes deletes first TDs only.)

I will attach a small test case showing the properties of the selection when a table is selected. Perhaps that will be useful when you try to get the behaviour consistent.

(You see quite interesting behaviour when trying to make partial selections across cells or rows inside the table. I think the range properties Opera defines are correct, but if in any case you notice Opera's behaviour is wrong or makes less sense than Firefox's do bug me and/or file a bug on it.)
