I have a similar problem, but I'm not certain it is exactly the same. I have MW 1.14 (just upgraded) and then I installed FCKeditor's install page "zip" file (http://rapidshare.com/files/205304883/FCKeditor.zip) that is supposed to have all those patches installed that are explained below on the same page (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:FCKeditor_(by_FCKeditor_and_Wikia) ).

So now the situation is that I can see FCKeditor with my IE 6 and Firefox 3 (not with Opera 9*, but thats another issue I believe) in Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.10 both. But every time I edit an article with internal Wiki links (ECS? - like so), then I get the string "/index.php/" concatenated everywhere. Like ECS? becomes ECS.

Of course there is no article called "/index.php/ECS", so it offers me to create one.

Interesting observation is that second time (when the URL's are already ruined) it does not concatenate another "/index.php/" into the beginning.

I installed FCKeditor as instructed on the above mentioned page (download and extract zip to extensions/ and add two lines to LocalSettings.php).

Any ideas? It seems a wiki text parser problem when it converts the text to "nice rendered format".

I really love to get FCKeditor working on our MediaWiki and I also think that there are other organizations who would love that. It would make editing "Your local wiki" so much more easier.

Sorry, if it's entirely new issue, but it seemed similar enough.

A bit more feedback. I got the editor working without the URL-bug with FCKeditor nightly build and MediaWiki 1.13.2 that is my organizations "production". So my conclusion would be that something happened during 1.13.2 and 1.14.0. Or maybe the "nightly build" had already some fixes yesterday when I downloaded it?

Also happens for me on SVN trunk. Really horrible bug - I'm editing my templates offline for the moment. Occurred in the same manner as OP, but clarifying a previous poster's comment, since prettifying my urls with iconic rewriter & iis, it now adds /wiki/ were it previously added /index.php?title=

So I guess it's adding an instance of $wgArticlePath some place it shouldn't. Have had a cursory glance through the code without success.

Would propose changing bug Priority to High.
