Summary: problem when clicking in between two block elementsFF: Impossible to position the cursor between two centered tables

The problem trying to positioning the cursor between two "centered" tables seams to be a Firefox core limitation (cursor positioning is controlled by the browser itself). I don't see much chances for us to fix it at our side. We need to fill a report at Mozilla's Bugzilla, expecting them to fix it. I'm targeting it to version 2.6 so we can work on that.

For the image (shade) issue, I would recommend opening a new ticket for it, attaching a sample (reduced) source code that shows the problem.
