Merge cells command missing

Description
Reproduce steps:
- Insert table of more than two columns
- Type some content in the two columns
- Select the cells
- Right click
Expected result: Merge cells option listed
Actual result: No option to merge cells
Currently working on the 2.6.4.1 editor.
Perhaps this is a feature that is intentionally removed from the new editor? Or maybe there is already a ticket on this? I did search for it. ;)
