hi try this
try to right click at the end of this code :<p><font size="-2">©2007 Google</font></p> in firefox we are selecting the whole code i didn't test it on another tags but i found it in FF in ie its working

yeah its a kind of problem cause when i copy a text and i need to paste it somewhere in the editor , sometimes it selects the whole text underneath and overwrite the whole paragraph. Regards Robert

Using preventDefault() in a click, mousedown or contextmenu cannot prevent the issue from occurring, so it seems it cannot be stopped in JavaScript anyway.

Confirmed with FF2. Ok with IE6.
This one sounds like a Firefox core bug. I don't see much chances to fix it at our side, but we need to fill a nice report at Mozilla's Bugzilla for it, expecting them to fix the browser. I'm targeting it to 2.6, so we can work on it for that.
Is this being a problem for you? Can you exemplify?
