Animated gifs don't work in Firefox for Mac

Description
I'm using gCards, a PHP ecard system (http://www.gregphoto.net/gcards/index.php) and updated to the latest version, 2.4.3 as a much older version was installed in gCards. However, animated icons still don't work in Firefox (2.0.0.4) for Mac. I'm on OS X 10.4.10.
I wanted to include animated gifs as an option to enter in the message area.

That behavior is just part of Firefox itself, and it's outside the control of the editor. There are several bugs in firefox bug tracking site about the behavior of animated gifs like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96873, so you should go there and check them because that's the only way that this behavior can be changed.
Please note that this also affects the windows version, but if you launch the image properties window of that gif then it starts animating and sometimes it doesn't stop, they all are bugs in the way that Firefox deals with animated gifs.
