#2507 closed Bug (fixed)

PasteFromWord doesn't detect pasting part of paragraph

Reported by: Christian Owned by:

Description

IE7, WinXP, FCKEditor 2.6.3

When copying text from MS Word to paste into FCKe, the AutoDetect function won't detect it if it's only text from part of a paragraph (i.e. no line breaks). If I copy the entire paragraph and ctrl+V, the AutoDetect activates.

I think there is no point in detecting it as a text from Word. The text formatting is not changed.

The content should be cleaned anyway... the following is what I'm having when posting just a few words:

<p><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: &quot;Times New
Roman&quot;; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;
mso-fareast-language: SV; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">declared a Tiger </span></p>

All that "mso-" stuff should be cut out.

The fact is that word is not sending enough information for us to detect the content source. I mean, enough for the current detection implementation, as the "mso-" styles could also help us detecting it.

I think this was my original idea as well. These "tags" could mess up further processing along the line. If you are able to include them in the detection, it would be great.
