Text formatting buttons broken in Chrome

Steps:
1) Click to any place in the text area where no formatting is applied. (End of the line will do)
2) Click the Bold icon.
3) Start typing

This is also the case with Italic, Underline, Strike-through, Subscript, Superscript, Background Color, and Foreground Color from what I've tested.

Selecting text and applying these styles does still work, however.

OS: Windows Vista with SP2
Browser: Chrome 4.0.249.43
