I have tried to reproduce this problem on IIS7 and IIS 7.5 - in all four cases (2 servers and two modes - integrated and classic) I have managed to run application without any problems. Could you perhaps tell me what error you are getting? Please provide Detailed description or/and screenshot for this error. NOTE: The only difference is that I have used DefaultAppPool and you have defined your own - perhaps you have made mistake there?

Comment from @Rohit
I have managed to get the CKEditor and CKFinder controls working within my application. There seems to have been a http handler that was mapped to *.css files within the IIS configuration of my website. This in turn conflicted with the CKEditor and CKFinder controls display. This managed handler was not required on my end, I removed it and the CK controls now display!
Application pool managed pipeline mode changed to Classic, CK Editor works fine.
