Description
Check out http://www.tiddlywiki.com/. This personal wiki program uses JavaScript to save files locally. It only uses html and javascript to do this. It works for all the major browsers (firefox, ie,...). I would like to see your program use the same type of technique to save it's data.

Summary: | Use JavaScript to save to local files (like TiddlyWiki) → FCKeditor as a Locall Text Editor. |
It would be a great idea to add a this feature and to make a possibility to save your work locally. However than FCKeditor would no longer be a HTML editor but just a simple editor like e.g. MS Word or OpenOffice. Maybe it would be a good idea tough to create a simple version of FCKeditor which would work locally. It wouldn't require any installation and maybe it would get popular.
I'll mark this ticket as "Discussion". Lets see what others may think about it. Anyway thanks for bringing up this issue.
