Second level context menus for table properties (such as Row, Cell, and Column sub-menus) do not show up in FCKEditor 2.6.4 when viewed with IE8 on Vista (both x64 and x86).

Currently VoiceOver announces the editor as, for example, "frame1". It should be instead announced using the correct accessibility string.

To reproduce:

In paste text dialog one can change size of the textarea - it should be disabled.

The CKEDITOR.dom.walker class has been introduced to replace the CKEDITOR.dom.domWalker class. Now, any part of the code using the domWalker must be changed to use walker instead, and domWalker is to be delete.

I like the idea of FCKEditor templates, but there is nothing to stop the user from ignoring/overriding the template they have just selected. Templates are more of a time-saving feature for users, rather than a way of enforcing a particular content/layout.

It would be nice if parts of a template could be "locked", i.e. the user could only edit certain regions of the template. This would be useful for CMS applications, where you want to enforce a particular page layout.

Taking this idea one step further (which might be more difficult!): let's say I select your sample "Image and Title" template. I would be able to change the title text, the main text, and certain properties (e.g. the image src), but I wouldn't be able to delete the image, or change the text styles (for example). This kind of functionality would be invaluable to developers who work with CMS sites.

there are several tags in ticket 1010 that still aren't listed, and <pre> would be very useful one, in particular.

When making multiple text selections (with CTRL in Firefox) and applying a style (like Bold), just one of the selections get styles, and the other selections get lost. This is used to work previously.

FireFox will not display iframes in FCK editor, the latest Nightly build.

*All* other browsers work except FireFox.

When hitting ENTER in in the last <li> of a list, if empty, the <li> must be removed, and the a new paragraph with the selection must be placed after the list.

With #2876, the new dom walker is introduced, this ticket is about establishing the missing TCs and bug fixing on it.

For viewing and editing formula I like an integration with ASCIIMathML.js .

Formula can be written in easy way (ex. x^{(n+1); int_0}1 x^{2 dx for an integral) and rendered in MathML W3C Standard.}

When using the link/file upload button, the upload fails to go to the files folder and instead goes to the "_userfiles" folder. Editing line 300 of the fckconfig.js fixes this.

Tested Firefox 3.1 and IE8, open any dialog and move the mouse over an <input type="text">

The cursor remains as an arrow, it isn't clear that the user can type there.

The cursor should have changed to the "beam" indicating that it's an active text input.

The problem is due to the reset.css file.

The flash plugin includes the flashplugin.gif file, with a Flash logo. We're not able to ensure the proper rights on that image, so it would be better to have it replaced with something different.

The editor opens and displays, but the keyboard doesn't come up, so there's no way to actually edit the text.

IE is returning the namespace definition as the following along with the 'outerHtml' when creating an element with tag name 'cke:custom', which is unexpected.

When i paste the contents of the attached file into fckeditor's source mode and click on source button 3-4 times to toggle between source and wysiwyg mode the data gets misaligned/corrupted in IE and gets truncated in Firefox.

I use FCKedtior a lot and am impressed by the speed of the new CKeditor. But one woe remains - the toolbar does not resize horizontally on narrow textareas.

Are there any plans to implement this? Or are there technical reasons why this is hard to implement? I am not a CKeditor dev, so please explain to me.

On latest nightly build, adding a flash object in IE does not work. The placeholder does appear in Rich Text mode but the source view does not display the new object.

There is an error on uploading images (and probably other files) using QuickUpload. It seams it's a problem with GetParentFolder function in "io.php". It returns an empty string in the above case, and it makes file_exists check fails in CreateServerFolder function.

Implement the About dialog on V3.

This is a defaults-influencing-user-experience issue: conceptually, you're using templates in order to not *avoid* editing. Setting the "manual" tab would save a lot of clicks over the long term.

The panel list inside combo is not correctly marking those selected items.

These are three of the more common dialog commands that could use hotkey combos.

If a selection contains multiple ranges, now invoke selection.createBookmarks(), if the ranges were overlapped with each other, then the bookmarked range will right correct.
Try the following selection in FF:

Dialog layout is wrong in Firefox 2.

Replication steps:

1. Select a paragraph of text from the editor area.
   
2. Use the Size control to make the text larger (select 16 in the control). Notice that size 16 indicated in the control.
   
3. Use the Size control and select size 16 again. The text size becomes smaller again. Notice that no size is indicated in the control.
   

Same thing is happening with Font control also.

When creating a bulleted list, if the cursor is at the end of the list on a new item and enter is pressed, a new bullet is created instead of ending the list. For example:

Instead of ending the list:

A new bullet is created:

The dropdown title displayed when dropping down the font name droplist says "Font Style". It would seem that it should be called "Font Name".

This issue exists in the nightly samples.

The paste area in the Paste from Word dialog isn't editable in Firefox 2.

There're many cases when we need to traverse the range from the start boundary node to the end boundary node, it's archiveable by the following codes:

1. The collapsed range problem reported at #3292;
2. It make code DUP at every plugin for the same logic;

It's necessary to introduce an API for this feature with dom iterator, which already holds a method for iterating over paragraphs. So after the API, other plugins should walking through the range as easy as using the iterator.

Uploading an image from IE6 not working.

Right now we have many times:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Type in a line of text
2. Press Enter
3. Type another line of text.
4. Select the second line of text.
5. Press the "backspace" key and delete all of the highlighted text, or just simply press backspace to delete all of the text.
6. Press Ctrl-Z or the Undo toolbar button

Observation: Only some of the deleted text is restored after pressing undo, and in some cases the entire second line of text is deleted. The behavior is sporadic, but reproducible. I've also noticed that if you have a lot of content in the editor, after calling the undo command the very last line of text will vanish.

Expected: The highlighted / deleted text should be restored as it was prior to deletion and the remainder of the content remains unchanged.

Notes: Redo performs in the same odd fashion. First noticed this behavior in the 2.6.3 version, but it's also reproducible in the nightly build:

If the clipboard plugin is disabled, there are usually no menu items to display in the context menu (there are still items for tables, etc).

In this case, it would be nice to simply display the browser's default context menu, rather than showing an (ugly) empty menu.

The keyboard shortcuts ALT+F10 and ALT+F11 do not work in FF2

Everytime we or a user creates content with your editor it gets wrapped in a tag. Even going into the html editor and deleting the tag still results in a tag. Sometimes we just want plain text. Maybe a plain text button (checkbox?) like the source button is needed?

Example:

I want: Hello World!

I get: <p>Hello World!</p> ...even if I delete the tags in the source editor.

I don't know how doable this is because I don't know how heavily intertwined the XML files you use are with the editor.

If you're building a PHP site and you want to output an RSS feed then a typical thing to do is to tell the server to interpret xml files as php using an htaccess file.

This completely kills the FCKeditor that uses xml files for, presumably, settings and stuff.

You should either ditch the xml files as the source for settings or provide a flag in the embed process to tell the program to use an alternate source for the information.

There is a problem using the JAWS screen reader with the Ajax example.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open JAWS
   
2. Open the Ajax sample from the nightly build
   
3. Tab until reaching the editing area of the editor, ensuring that the cursor is within the editing area.
   
4. Attempt to type text into the editing area.
   

Actual result:
Typed text is not entered into the text area. When the letter 'A' is typed, the screen reader reads "No Anchor Tags Found".

Hello I have FCK editor opened successfully for first time in IE. But simple refreshing the page (or editor in the same window) make Editor do nothing. It freezes on some step of creation. No errors appear. I'm using an old version (2.3) But I really need to use it, and can not update. Thanks for help

Navigation key on sub menu items is not working within IE.

There' no key assigned to help collapse submenu and go back to the first-level menu.

Reproducing Procedures

1. Open the replace by class example page;
2. Insert a table, right click to open context menu which has sub-menu;
3. Navigate to the menu item which would trigger sub-menu, press 'arrow-right' key.
   • Expected Result: Sub menu show up.
   • Actual Result: Javascript error thrown.

The table dialog is the only one that goes out of our design standards, having all labels at the left of the fields instead of above them. We need uniformity here.

When viewing a piece of content in WCM, the content within the editor is not visible.

When using fck editor in IBM WCM, we cannot create a new piece of content. When we enter the content into the window, we get an error when trying to save and then the content disappears.

When editing existing content within IBM WCM, we cannot save the changes that have been made to the content.

The initial textarea height is incorrect after the DOM structure adjustment at #3387.

I have relative paths for my images (not relative to the document root, but relative to the BaseHref I have set). Now when I move an image in firefox, the image disappears. But when I go the source view, the right path show up, and when I go back in WYSIWYG mode, the image appears again. In IE this works fine.

This issue looks very similar to ​http://dev.fckeditor.net/ticket/1847

Start with a completely blank editor in wysiwyg mode. Type a few characters, then press the indent button. A JavaScript error will result.

Attached is a patch which fixes the problem.

3. Open the smiley dialog.
4. Many smiley icons are missing.
5. Open the special charater dialog.
6. There're scroll bars along the edges of the dialog.

There's some cases where it's necessary to check whether a attributed is intrinsic OR assigned dynamically on an element.

Start with a completely empty editor. Type several words, then press enter. The cursor should be positioned just below the previous line, but instead there is an extraneous linebreak.

It's not able to undo changes made by 'Font Size' change.

Load this in source mode:

when you switch to design view the alert will show, so any script will be executed instead of being protected.

load this in source mode:

<a href="#" onclick="alert(1)">click me</a>

IE and Safari will show the alert when you click the link, meaning that any event handler is being executed while in design view.

To duplicate, start with a completely empty editor, then press the bullet button. The bullet will be scrunched up against the top of the editor until a key is typed, which causes the UL/LI to render at full height, shifting the bullet down.

The solution, I believe, is to call appendBogus() on the LI. Attached is a patch that implements this.

The python library works great under a CGI script implementation, but won't work under many other server configurations. The problem is that you are looking in the os.environment directly for the user agent. You need to add some way to pass in the user agent when it is not available from the os.environment.

Both Microsoft Word and Google Docs work correctly. Additionally, when doing the opposite (going from normal to bold), CKEditor works correctly.

This can be reproduced in any of the nightly samples.

To reproduce:

1. Open replacebyclass.html in IE6.
2. Open any dialog that has a tab bar (e.g. the image dialog).
3. The tab bar is seen at a position about 10px lower than the intended location.

The bug occurs in both standards mode and quirks mode. But it doesn't affect IE7.

JAWS is does not read Format, Font & Size Drop down as Combo Boxes.

For example, in the Paragraph Format combo box, JAWS should read the first option in the combo box followed by "to select the options use arrow keys".

This applies to other combo boxes.

To reproduce:

1. Remove the doctype line from sample.html.
2. Open replacebyclass.html in IE6.
3. Open any combo box - e.g. the style combo.
4. The position of the combo menu is a few pixels off from where it should be.

Other browsers are not affected.

When a paste dialog is opened, e.g. Paste from Word, the cursor will initially be focused inside the text area. After tabbing out of the text area, it is not possible to tab back into it.
